The Lindau causeway is an approx. 500 m long connection between the mainland and Lindau Reutin main station and the well-known island of Lindau – a popular destination for tourists, pedestrians, cyclists, and rail traffic. As part of a comprehensive modernization, the railway facilities on the causeway and at Lindau Reutin station were fully renewed.
In this context, the old lighting masts were dismantled and replaced with a modern emergency and escape route lighting system using the "handraiLIT" LED handrail. The illuminated handrail was mounted onto an existing fall protection barrier using specially designed mounting clamps.
Today, handraiLIT ensures uniform and consistent illumination of the escape route along the edge of the tracks, enabling safe use of the path by workers or evacuating persons—day or night.
