Albertplatz is a major traffic junction in Dresden, where Königsbrücker Straße and Bautzner Straße intersect. In addition, tram lines 3, 6, 7, 8, and 11 cross here. The core of the construction works was the renewal of the four-way diamond crossing turnout in the middle of the roadway. Furthermore, three double-track branches were renewed.
The works included the installation of the crossing turnout and the branches, as well as the final surface works with paving and marking.
Project scope
- Dismantling and renewal of 380 t of ballast including tamping works
- Dismantling and renewal of 3 x A6 turnouts and one K16 diamond crossing turnout
- Dismantling and renewal of all track systems (70 m)
- Rail and sleeper replacement in connection areas
- Removal and reinstallation of sidewalk slabs/concrete paving (5 m²)
- Landscaping works (grass seeding)
- Removal and construction of 720 m² of rolled and cast asphalt
- Joint sealing works
- Welding works (130 SRZ welds)
- Dismantling and renewal of all electrical connections for turnout control and heating
- Removal and reinstallation of large paving stones (70 m²)
