As part of Stuttgart 21, four tracks (two long-distance railway tracks and two S-Bahn tracks) were temporarily realigned by approx. 700 m each to create clearance for the tunnel portal of the new high-speed line Stuttgart – Ulm. The execution was carried out track by track during four main conversion closures.

- 3,100 m new track construction
- 775 m deep drainage
- 712 m installation of cable trough, type III
- Installation of approx. 11,000 t formation protective layer (PSS KG1)
- Removal of approx. 12,000 t of old ballast
- Removal and disposal of approx. 6,000 t of soil
- Installation of approx. 3,000 m telecommunications cable
