As part of this project, two tracks each 3.8 km in length were dismantled and rebuilt 4 m offset for a design speed of 160 km/h. The works were carried out in conventional construction. Special features of the Großenhain project included the dismantling of 5 bridge structures, laying of 4 km of cable route, and full-length reconstruction with subgrade, frost protection layer, and formation protective layer.
