With an impressive length of 33 kilometres, the Koralm Tunnel will in future connect Carinthia with Styria. Together with its joint venture partner PORR Bau GmbH, the Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group is responsible for the construction and commissioning of the slab track as well as all other construction measures up to commissioning at the end of 2025. The facts and figures surrounding the project, which is regarded as the centrepiece of the Koralm Railway, are impressive:

33 km track length
270 million euros contract volume
66 km installation of slab track in the tunnel
Infrastructure in the tunnel
69 cross-passages & emergency stop in the tunnel
Construction of the verges and side roads
350 persons on duty

Work on the major ÖBB project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025 with the Koralm Tunnel put into operation.
