The senior fitter reports on his work at Rhomberg Bahntechnik.

My journey within Rhomberg Bahntechnik

Straight after my apprenticeship as an electrician and after completing my military service, I joined the business as an electrical fitter, which was nearly 5 years ago. The internationality attracted me: Through my work on different construction sites in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, I am always discovering new and interesting areas of our tri-national region. This variety makes my work exciting and fascinating.

By now I am a senior fitter and manage between 2 and 6 employees depending on the construction site. This new area of responsibility, which entails a high degree of independence and responsibility, was a jump into the deep end at the beginning. But with the help of our great team I was able to grow with the tasks. Management of assembly, material procurement and managing the fitters are now daily business on my switch heating and station refurbishment sites. I enjoy working with my colleagues: I can fully rely on them. They all know their respective areas of responsibility and together we pursue the same goal: to get things moving forward on the construction site (and professionally).

Future-proof with Rhomberg Bahntechnik

I value Rhomberg Bahntechnik as a modern employer. I particularly identify with the sustainability efforts of our business, and we also want to be pioneers in the field of digitalisation. Our MyNet collaboration platform makes my work much easier - I now have plans available digitally at any time.

The company generally places a high degree of trust in me. This of course means that I bear a lot of responsibility, but I am not left alone with it. In fact, quite the opposite, I am empowered. In the course of numerous internal and external further training courses, for example courses on medium-voltage technology, I have been able to acquire a great deal of specialist know-how for my area of responsibility. This will soon expand even further: I will shortly be completing my training as a master electrician during a three-month training leave, and Rhomberg Bahntechnik will cover almost all the training fees. After completing the course, I am looking forward to new challenges at Rhomberg Bahntechnik.

“I am an ideas-on-track-bringer, because I put the resourceful flashes of inspiration of my colleagues from planning and construction management into concrete terms. I spin the ideas further and turn them into something solid and tangible. I am proud when I can provide a practical solution to a problem."
