Introducing our HR

Rhomberg Bahntechnik HR Business Partner Stefanie Alge talks about her daily work.

As Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group, a full-service provider in railway technology, we offer a near complete range of services in the areas of railway construction, infrastructure and service - for you as an applicant this means that we can find the perfect job in the most suitable field of activity.

More than 1,800 employees at our main locations in Bregenz, Zurich and Berlin and at our branches worldwide will confirm this. This large number of staff sets particular challenges for our HR department, but it also makes their work varied.

Our HR Business Partner Stefanie Alge talks about her daily work:

Which symbol illustrates how you perceive and experience your role as an HR employee (within the RSRG and in general)?

The symbol that best symbolizes the role of HR for me is the scale. The task/role of HR is to balance the needs and wishes of employees with the requirements and goals of the company. The bar (HR) in the middle of the scale represents the interface between the two scales (employees & company). HR must ensure that the exchange and communication between employees and the company takes place in the best possible way so that the scales can remain in balance. Should an imbalance nevertheless occur, HR can take certain measures to restore harmony and balance. Finally, it can be said that the beam scale is built on a solid foundation, which symbolizes HR's broad-based professional and social competence.

In your opinion, what should be in the DNA of a successful HR employee?

A successful HR employee should have increased social competence, empathy and a "sense for people". In addition to the social aspects, professional know-how and entrepreneurial thinking should of course not be missing. In addition, there should be a certain amount of communication skills to ensure - as mentioned above - exchange and balance. Furthermore, I would recommend that you be open to new & innovative ways of actively shaping the HR department and the business.

I would like to enable the employees to feel comfortable and perform well in our company with my daily work.

What makes HR a passion for you personally?

I would like to enable the employees to feel comfortable and perform well in our company with my daily work. For me, this means listening actively, being open to their views and supporting them in achieving their professional goals by getting to know them on an interpersonal level. I am happy to see that I can make a positive difference to my colleagues and the company. The tasks are wide-ranging and varied, so that no two days are the same and there are always new challenges.

What has been your funniest/best HR-Moment?

One of my best HR moments was when I successfully filled my first position. I oversaw the entire recruitment process from start to finish. That's why, in retrospect, it was even nicer to see that I was able to support and help recruit a person who fits the company both professionally and personally. Another highlight was the HR conference. The opportunity to get to know all HR representatives in the DACH (German, Austria and Switzerland) region personally and to get a first insight into the different HR areas was unique and a great experience!
